Pete Snell memorial plaque at the Arcata Airport February 10, 2024
Snell's Executive Director Stephen Johnson was invited by NSGW at the dedication of a plaque to William "Pete" Snell at the Arcata Airport in Northern California where the fatal crash happened in 1956 and led to the founding of the Snell Memorial Foundation.

US Equestrian Federation recognizes Snell standards July 26, 2023

E2021 Chin Bar Addendum July 14, 2022
Equestrian helmets may be configured with chin bars, a rigid element passing from left to right across the lower part of the wearers face and which may provide a measure of protection against injuries to the jaw and dentition. The addendum to the Snell E2021 Standard for Protective Headgear for Use in Equestrian Activities specifies additional requirements and test procedures for helmets configured with chin bars.

The Snell Foundation Laboratory will be shut down for annual maintenance and calibration beginning 26 December 2019 and will tentatively reopen 15 January, 2020. Administrative tasks and technical staff will remain available other than 25 December 2019 and 1 January 2020. Please be sure to have all test submissions completed by 20 December 2019.
